3 Looks for New Years Eve

December 26, 2014

Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas, while we all continue to eat our way through to New Years I thought I'd give you some NYE make-up looks. I'm still not all that great at taking pictures of make-up looks so forgive some of the dodgy photography/colours not showing up all that great.

1. Subtle Smoky Eye with a Red Lip

My usual go to party make-up had to feature here. Red lipstick might seem a bit counter productive when it comes to that midnight kiss, which is why I used Sleek Matte Me as it doesn't budge or transfer at all.
Products Used:
Blush - Rose Gold Sleek Blush
Eyeshadow - Naked 2 Basics (Stark, Cover, Primal, Undone)
Eyeliner - MUR Felt Pen and Kohl liner
Mascara - Benefit They're Real
Lips - Sleek Matte Me in Rioja Red
To get this look I packed Stark across the lid, used Cover in the crease and then Primal as a transition colour to blend into Undone which I used in the corner. However any matte shadows will do if you do  - you'll need a cream, 2 taupe browns and a grey. I then lightly lined my waterline and used a felt tip/liquid eyeliner to line the top lid.
A sweep of blush and red lips and good to go.

2. Gold and shimmery

Products Used
Blush - Honey Queen Bronzer by W7
Eyeshadow - bH cosmetics 120 Eyeshadow palette 5th edn
Eyeliner - Rimmel Kohl Eyeliner
Mascara - Rimmel Lash Acceleration
Lips - Hollywood Shimmer Lipgloss in Red by Ruby Cosmetics
The shades in this palette don't have names so I'll have to improvise a bit. I patted a very light gold/cream shimmer across the lid and built it up. I then took darker shades of gold shimmer and blended out to the corner of my eye and brought some across the crease. I then made a wing with the eyeliner and smudged and blended this out to create a more smoky look. I also smudged the dark gold underneath my eyes. I lined all the way around my waterline and used a coat of the lipgloss.

3. Something dark and rosy

Products Used
Blush - Essence Silky Touch Blush in Babydoll
Eyeshadow - Naked 3 (Strange, Burnout, Factory, Darkside)
Eyeliner - Makeup Revolution Liquid Eyeliner
Mascara - Benefit They're Real
Lips - Rimmel Apocalips Eclipse
For this look I used Strange (A light rose highlighter) over the lid, Burnout (rose satin shade) in the crease, Factory (brown shimmer) in the corner and Darkside (a black with rosy glitter in) blended from the corner and taken across the crease. Then I used the liquid eyeliner to create a dramatic winged out eyeliner and layered on some mascara.

Happy New Year lovelies! x
