Review and Swatches - Makeup Revolution Girls on Film Palette

October 13, 2014

Makeup Revolution have became a well loved brand of mine which all started when I got their Iconic 2 palette so I was eager to try another one out.

I'd had my eye on Girls on Film for a while and caved after I walked past the new Makeup Revolution counter in Superdrug in the Bullring.

Lots of people have raved about Makeup Revolution's eyeshadows and this palette is no different.
I've found all of the shades to be amazingly pigmented and I've fell in love with the shade combination in the palette. There's a combination of neutral gold shades but there's also some deep chocolate and purples in there.

This palette makes an amazing day or night look due to the combination of shades and the fact that there's a mixture of matte and shimmers.

So onto the formula of the shadows. I've swatched each row and just one finger swipe led to a solid swatch so obviously Makeup Revolution has delivered again on the pigmentation front.

Admittedly the matte shades did have some fallout and are a bit on the chalky side but for a palette this good at such a low price (£6) this can be easily overlooked in my opinion.

The shadows will last you a night out, in terms of day time wear they aren't long lasting enough to get you through a full working day without any wear or slip off but again at such a budget price sacrificing some lasting power isn't the end of the world.

  1. I'm wishing I'd got this one instead of What You Waiting For now, as WYWF is a bit same-y :(

  3. I find that fallout is quite common in the Makeup Rev. palettes but the pigment is so amazing & the price super affordable so I really can't complain! This is a gorgeous palette x

    1. I completely agree! But fall out is easy to brush off and for the price it's a fair trade off :) x
