The Face Five Challenge

July 07, 2014

I was tagged by the lovely Alice Anne from Annie Writes Beauty which I was pretty amazed that she even knew of my blog if I'm honest let alone thought to tag me so thank you to her. I love her blog and you should definitely take a read (after this of course).

So the aim of the tag/challenge is to create a make-up look using just 5 products. Sounds not so bad but there's nothing beauty bloggers love more than a palette which is banned in this tag. Cue panicking and realising my dependence on palettes.

The products I chose were: MUR Liquid Concealer, MUR Liquid Eyeliner, MUR Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights, Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara in Blackest Black and Dainty Doll lipstick in It's My Party.
In doing this I realised just how many products I end up using on my face and that actually I looked okay with just concealer on, I may have to start cutting down on face preparation in the morning.

So here's what the results were. I liked using a bolder lipstick in this challenge as it made it look more 'made-up' than if I'd gone for a bronzer or something. I used the highlighter on my cheekbones and also swept it over my eyelid as a substitute eyeshadow (which turned out pretty well). Which made the look shimmery, dewy and summery. I actually quite like it and might start wearing it (although using proper eyeshadow and something to do my brows with).

So now it's my turn to pass on the favour! The blogs I tag are:
Jemma from Dreams of New York
Emma from Hello Emma XO
Madi from Madi Makeup Life
Caitlin from Through the Mirror

Ladies your rules are:
1. Use five and only five products to create a complete make-up look.
2. Each different product counts as one product (multi-purpose producst count as one product such as Benetint, Bombshell The One Stick and NARS Multiple Stick)
3. No palettes are allowed (no trips, quads or multi-shade palettes)
4. Tag five others to complete The Face Five Challenge
5. Have fun!

  4. I only use 2-3 products on a daily basis just due to pure laziness (and it really saves time and money too!)
Your look is very similar to my every day look - a bright lip makes everything look more put together. Your lipstick is lovely - I may have to have a look at more Dainty Doll products!

    1. I'm a bit of a makeup hoarder so if I have time when getting ready I just sit and play with makeup and end up using a LOT so this was a bit of a challenge. It definitely does, it just brightens up the face as well I think!
It's such a lovely vibrant pink, they're a bit hard to get your hands on sadly as a lot of places discontinued them :( xx
