My Haircare Saviour: Frizz Ease Secret Agent Finshing/Touch Up Creme

July 29, 2014

If you've been with me for a while, you might remember that some of my very first posts were how I dip dyed my hair and the subsequent death of it (RIP). Since then I've been on a bit of a mission to revive it so I'm going to use this mission/struggle to start a series of posts on products or things that have helped me on my quest (yes I'm going all medieval/military).

One of my biggest obstacles is that my hair hates weather. Think of that episode of Friends where Monica's hair doesn't do well with the humidity. My hair does the same sadly.
What about rain? I look like some kind of furrball as my hair explodes in fluff
Sun? I look like a scarecrow with a dry straw head
And I'm not even going to MENTION wind.

So one of my problems is that no matter how much I care for my hair or what I do with it, by the end of the day I may as well not have bothered, and I'm too lazy to go around carrying an army of serums to redo it. What I needed was a product small enough to fit in my handbag, that could revive my hair half way through the day.

This is where John Frieda saved my day.
I found this Frizz Ease Secret Agent Touch Up/Perfecting/Finshing Creme (it seems to have a different name everywhere I look) on offer while wandering around Superdrug and decided to give it a whirl. Since then I don't know how my hair has survived without it.

It's a thick styling cream that gives your hair a moisture and style boost when smoothed through dry hair and also protects it from UV rays.
It comes in 100ml bottles that are perfect enough that you won't need to constantly repurchase but small enough that they're handbag friendly.

This is great for when your hair feels like a big pile of straw as it just seems to add a bit of shine and bounce, as well as boosting your hair's moisture levels as it contains avocado oil. Even if the humidity is the problem it's great at taming the mane and frizzy bits and with UV protection it's basically a weather proofer for your hair.

It's kind of like a mini styling treatment and a serum in one little bottle. A little goes a long way and too much product or not rubbing in properly can just make the hair look heavy and greasy, I use about as much product on my hand as the picture shows and I have a LOT of hair. I then just rub my hands together, scrunch and rub the creme into my hair until I can't feel it in my hair and my hair is all touched up and restored to it's just styled self. It's £5.50 from Boots currently but I got it on 2 for £8 from Superdrug and at the time of writing you can get it from Boots at 2 for £7.50. Which isn't bad pricing at all as I also stocked up on my Frizz Ease hair serum (which I'll post about soon) which saved me about a fiver.

This is what my hair looks like after use! So much less frizzy and more controlled than normal! It's also great for curls as it seems to give them much more bounce and definition.

I'd be interested if any of you have any thoughts on this product and if you have any ways of keeping hair moisturised and frizz free through the day?

  1. Fortunately my hair is a bit easy to deal with, still not that easy, actually my skin reacts worse than my hair to the weather.

  3. Frizz is the bane of my existence. I have naturally curly/wavy hair that just doesn't want to ever been smooth, like ever. And I live in the tropics with sweltering heat and humidity. It's a nightmare. I'm willing to try anything so will look out for this!

    1. It's definitely helpful in humidity so I recommend giving it a go! My hair sounds exactly the same as yours, no matter how smooth and sleek I can get it in the morning as soon as I leave the house it just goes poof and is a big ball of frizzy fluff! xxx
